KSOU Admission 2025-26: The online registrations have started at Karnataka State Open University, Mysore, for the July 2025 academic session. Now, students can apply for admission to various UG, PG, and Diploma & BEd the fields of arts, commerce, management, science, biotechnology, and more. The registration fees for general category student is INR 500/. There is merit-based selection for all courses except Phd & B.Ed.

Karnataka State Open University, Mysore

Karnataka State Open University (KSOU), Mysore, was founded in 1996 as an open university in the state of Karnataka. It is a reputed institution that is entitled to UGC-DEB for its high-quality education across multiple disciplines. The university consists of several schools and departments, including the School of Languages, the School of Management, the School of Social Science, the School of Science, the School of Commerce, and the School of Education. Karnataka State Open University offers admissions to Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Diploma, Certificate, and PhD courses under various disciplines for the 2025-26 academic session. The online admission form was released on 18 May 2025 on the official website www.ksoumysore.ac.in. The last date for KSOU admission 2025 is 31 July 2025.

The first-year admission fee for all offered courses is between Rs 8,000 to Rs 70,000 per year (average). The selection process varies for each programme. Some require entrance exams, while others are based on merit. grants merit-based admission for all UG, PG, Diploma and Certificate courses, which are merit-based, while courses like B.Ed. and Ph.D. require candidates to qualify through entrance exams.

KSOU UG Admission 2025

Karnataka State Open University offers a wide range of undergraduate (UG) courses, including BA, BCom, BBA, BSc, BCA, BLIS, and BSW. The average duration of these courses is 4 years (1 year for BLIS), with fees ranging from ₹8,000 to ₹20,000 per year. KSOU UG admission 2025-26 last date is 31 July 2025. Anyone who has completed their 10+2 education can apply, and the selection will be based on merit scores.

KSOU PG Admission 2025

The PG admission at Karnataka State Open University, Mysore is available in courses like MA, MCom, MBA, MSc, MLis, MCA, and MSW. The registration process requires candidates to complete an online application using the KSOU Online Admission Portal. KSOU PG Admission 2025 last date is 31 July 2025 for PG courses. The selection is based on the marks obtained in the UG degree. Most of the PG courses have a 2-year minimum duration, while MLIS has 1 year.  The annual fee range for these courses is between ₹10,000 to ₹35,000.

KSOU B.Ed Admission 2025

Karnataka State Open University offers a 2-year ODL Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degree to aspiring teachers. There are 500 seats only for in-service (NCTE-recognized) graduate teachers. Admission to this course is conducted through the KSOU BEd Common Entrance Test (CET).

The online registration form for BEd CET 2025 has started at the university’s online admission portal. Only eligible students will be able to fill out the form with a registration fee of INR 500. The last date to apply for KSOU BEd Admission 2025 is 31 July 2025.

Applicants who qualify for the CET entrance test will be considered for admission. The university will prepare a merit list based on CET scores and reservation policies, and seats will be allocated accordingly. Once selected, candidates must pay the required fees to confirm their enrollment. The per year fee of this programme is ₹45,000.

KSOU PhD Admission 2025-26

Karnataka State Open University Mysore,offers PhD admission in various disciplines, including Languages, Science, Commerce, Social Science, and Education. Registration for the PhD degree will begin in April 2025. Candidates holding a PG degree are eligible, and they must pass an entrance exam followed by an interview for this course. The average annual fee for the KSOU PhD course is between ₹50,000 and ₹70,000 per.

Eligibility Criteria for KSOU Admission 2025-26

For UG Courses

  • Applicants need to pass 10+2 from a recognized board to be eligible for any undergraduate degree from KSOU.
  • A UG degree is mandatory for the BLIS course

For PG Courses

  • Applicants must pass a Bachelor’s degree in the relevant field to enroll in any of the offered postgraduate degrees.
  • Also, students need a BLIS degree for MLIS.

For BEd Course

  • An In-service elementary teacher with a recognized UG degree is eligible.
  • Students who have completed an NCTE-recognized teacher education program in face-to-face mode are also eligible.

For PhD Course

  • Master’s degree holders with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for reserved categories) from a valid university are eligible.
  • Applicants must qualify for the KSOU PhD entrance test and personal interview.
  • UGC-NET qualified are also eligible, but they need to take the personal interview. They only get exempted from the entrance test.

KSOU Entrance Exams 2025

  • KSOU BEd CET: Karnataka State Open University Mysore, conducts this entrance test for admission to the ODL BEd course. Registration for the test is open till March 31, 2025. It will be an offline test that will take place at various regional and study centers of the university.
  • KSOU PhD Entrance Test: It is a mandatory exam for someone looking for PhD admissions. The online forms for the test will also be open starting in April.
