NSOU Admission 2025-26: The online admission form of NSOU for the academic session 2025-26 will open from the second week of Jun 2025. The university will invite interested students for its various Undergraduate, Postgraduate, BLIS, PhD and advanced diploma courses under various streams. Students who have completed their graduation with relevant subjects can apply for these courses. The online application form can be filled out from the official website of the university www.wbnsou.ac.in.

The last date for NSOU Admission 2025 will be 15 July 2025. The application fee for all these courses is INR 500/, interested candidates must apply before the deadline. The university will conduct purely merit-based admission to all PG, Diploma, and BLIS programmes based on applicants’ performance in graduation.

Netaji Subhas Open University was founded in 1997 and accredited with an ‘A’ grade by NAAC, It is an open and distance learning university in West Bengal. It is ranked 2 under NIRF Open University ranking 2024. The institution offers 47 programmes in Humanities, Social Sciences, Sciences, Education, Professional Studies, and Vocational Studies schools and has enrolled over 4.75 lakh learners. NSOU Admissions 2025-26

Netaji Subhas Open University offers admission to 34 undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) courses in arts, sciences, commerce, education, streams, and PhD courses under 13 departments. The admission window of NSOU opens twice a year for bachelor’s and master’s courses, and it is purely merit-based.

NSOU admission portal for PhD, BEd, and MEd programmes is open only once a year and it is entrance test based. The fee range for all courses offered of the university is between INR 9300 to INR 37000. Admission selection methods vary between direct enrollment, merit-based, and entrance-based selections.

NSOU UG Admissions 2025-26

The undergraduate admissions at Netaji Subhas Open University are available in arts, sciences, commerce, Library science, education, and innovative disciplines like special education. The offered courses are BA, BSc, and  BCom (Hons) in subjects like English, Mathematics, Zoology, and Bengali, among others.

Students who passed a 10+2 with relevant subject combinations from a reputed board are eligible for UG courses. The first-year fee range is between ₹9,900 – ₹15,600.  Selections are directly based on qualifying exam performance for all courses. NSOU UG Admissions 2025 will start in June 2025.

NSOU PG Admissions 2025-26

Students can enroll in NSOU postgraduate courses in disciplines like arts, sciences, commerce and education. Offers courses include MA in Political Science, MSc in Zoology, MCom, MLIS, Master of Social Work and MEd spl education. A bachelor’s degree with relevant subjects is mandatory to enroll in these courses. The annual fee range is ₹7,600 for arts programs, with science courses like Environmental Science costing ₹36,000.

The admission will soon open for the academic year 2025-26 January, and the application form is available on the official website https://pg.wbnsouadmissions.com/. NSOU PG Admission 2025-26 last date will be 15 July 2025, and the applicants need to pay an admission fee of INR 500/ till 28 March 2025. Merit lists will determine admission for all master’s courses except MEd. The university conducts an entrance test for admission to the MEd special education course.

NSOU PhD Admission 2025-26

Netaji Subhas Open University provides a 3-year Doctor of Philosophy degree in 13 disciplines such as Zoology, Political Science, Environmental Science, Bengali, and more. Interested applicants require a Master’s degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent to enroll in this course. Also, MPhil graduates may qualify for direct admission.

The fee range for PhD courses in NSOU starts from Rs 22,000 per year to Rs 37,000 per year. The admission process includes the NSOU Research Entrance Test (NSOU-RET), with a written exam (70%) and an interview (30%). The online registration for the NSOU PHD admission test will start from 20 July on the official website, with a last date of 19 August 2025*.

Eligibility Criteria For NSOU Admission 2025-26

Students seeking admission to NSOU must meet the minimum eligibility requirements for each course mentioned below:

For UG Courses

• Students need to pass a 12+2 education from a reputed board of India with relevant subjects.
• The minimum requirement for UG courses is between 45%-50%.
• Students must pass graduation (10+2+3) with 50% for BLIS and BEd.

For PG Courses

• Graduate students are eligible for NSOU PG courses.
• Additionally, some degree will be required for a similar/relevant, or specific subject with 50% marks in graduation.
• Candidates must pass the B.Ed. for M.Ed. in special education.

For PhD Courses

• Anyone holding a master’s (MA/MCom/etc) or equivalent degree with 55% marks is eligible for NSOU PhD courses.
• Students need to pass the NSOU RET entrance test too.
• MPhil degree holders will get direct admission.

NSOU Entrance Exams 2025

Netaji Subhas Open University conducts entrance exams for admission to BEd, BEd Spl Edu, MEd Spl Edu, and PhD degree programmes. These are the mandatory entrance tests conducted at the university level across various study centers of NSOU. PhD RET will have an additional personal interview round, which has a 30% weightage in the total marks.

NSOU Admission Merit List

NSOU conducts merit-based admission for postgraduate courses like MSc in Zoology, Geography, and Environmental Science. These lists contain names of the selected candidates and it is prepared based on the applicants’ performance in the qualifying examinations (UG degree).
