BRAOU Admission 2025-26: Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU) will soon start the online registration for various UG, PG, Diploma, and other courses in the academic year 2025-26. The university will soon invite interested and eligible students for this program. Candidates can complete the online registration from the official portal https://www.braouonline.in/. The last date to apply for BRAOU Admission 2025 will be 30 June 2025, and the application fee is Rs 300/.

About Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University

This university was established in 1982 in the name of “Dr. B.R. Ambedkar” as a public open university in Telangana, India. The institution is dedicated to making higher education accessible to all through its learner-friendly framework and large network of support centers. The university offers higher education programs with its 25+ departments, including sciences, humanities, education, and research studies. BRAOU also has a large number of study centers across the country to help students in their locality.

BRAOU Admission 2025-26

Dr BR Ambedkar Open University offers admission to 74+ courses, including UG, PG, M.Phil, PhD, Diploma, and Certificates in multiple disciplines. The university opens its admission window twice a year (January & July) for all courses except PhD, MPhil, and BEd.

BRAOU will initiate its admission process on 20 May 2025 for the 2025-26 academic session. Applicants will get direct or merit-based Dr BR Ambedkar Open University admission to the majority of courses, such as BA, BCom, MA, etc. However, the university will ask you to take an entrance test for courses like BEd, MBA, MPhil, and PhD. BRAOU UG Admission 2025-26

The undergraduate admission at DR BR Ambedkar University is available in 6 courses in commerce, arts, science, and education domains. These courses are BA, BCom, BSc, BLIS, BEd, and BEd spl education. Admissions to UG programs are primarily merit-based and require candidates to have passed 10+2 or its equivalent. However, students need a UG degree for BEd and BLIS courses, while admission to BEd is entrance-based.

The average annual fee for UG programs ranges from INR 5,000 to INR 30,000. These courses have a duration of 1 to 4 years. The university is all set to start the registrations for UG courses for the 2025-26 academic year. DR. B.R. Ambedkar Open University admissions last date for UG courses will be 30 June 2025.

DR BR Ambedkar Open University B.Ed Admission 2025

A 2-year-long Bachelor of Education (BEd) degree is also available at this university in the ODL learning mode. The university offers this course only to government primary teachers or employees who have done any NCTE-approved course in a face-to-face mode. The eligibility requirement for this course is a UG degree and NCTE guidelines.

The number of seats in the BEd course is limited nearly about 120; therefore, the university conducts an entrance test for admission. The total fee for this course is Rs 40,000 (as per the last prospectus). The registration for the B.Ed entrance test will open in May, and the Braou admission 2025 last date to apply will be 30 June 2025.

The university also offers admission to MA, MCom, MBA, MLis, and MSc degrees at the postgraduate level. Applicants can pursue these courses with 21 specializations such as Economics, Library Science, Journalism, Mathematics, and more. The fee for PG programs varies between INR 5,300 and INR 18,300 per year, depending on the course.

Dr BR Ambedkar Open University master’s courses have a 2-year duration, except MLIS (1 year). Anyone who has a UG degree can enroll in these courses. While merit-based selection applies to most PG programs, professional courses such as the MBA require candidates to qualify in the BRAOU MBA Entrance Test (BRAOUMBAET) or the Telangana state ICET test.

BRAOU MBA Admission 2025

Dr BR Ambedkar Open University offers admission to the 2-year MBA program to interested candidates for the 2025-26 academic cycle. The course is being offered with 7+ specializations such as Finance, Marketing, HR, Hospital and Healthcare Management, etc. The annual fee for the BRAOU MBA is between Rs 15,000 to Rs 60,000.

To become eligible to pursue this course, candidates need to complete a UG degree with at least 45% marks from any recognized University. There will be a university-level entrance test and interview for the selection of the applicants. However, there is an exemption from this test for students who have qualified for the Telangana ICET test.

BRAOU PhD Admission 2025-26

Dr BR Ambedkar Open University offers admission to a 3-year Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree at the research level in 16 departments, including Botany, Business Management, and Journalism. Students holding a master’s degree with 55% marks in relevant streams are eligible. The per-year fee for all disciplines is INR 15,000 and an additional admission fee of Rs 3000 (one-time).

The university does not conduct any entrance test for PhD, instead, it considers students based on state and national research entrance tests like UGC NET and AP-SET. Shortlisted candidates are required to attend interviews in their applied department. The combined score of both will decide the final selection of an applicant. Generally, the BRAOU starts the PhD admission process in July-August of a year.

Eligibility Criteria For BRAOU Admission 2025-26

DR BR Ambedkar Open University UG Admission Eligibility

• Candidates who have passed their Intermediate (10+2) education or its equivalent from a recognized board or open schooling are eligible.
• Only graduate students are eligible for the BLIS course.
• Applicants who passed a common UG degree like BA/BCom/BSc with 50% marks or a Technical degree like B.E/B. Tech students with 55% marks are eligible for B.Ed. Postgraduate students can also apply.

DR BR Ambedkar Open University PG Admission Eligibility

• MA: Interested applicants must have a UG degree in any discipline from a recognized Indian university. Some specializations may need relevant subjects in a bachelor’s.
• MCom: Students must pass a BCom/BBM or any UG degree with Commerce as one of the optional subjects.
• MSc: Any BSc graduate with relevant subjects is eligible for Dr BR Ambedkar Open University MSc admission.
• MBA: Applicants completed their graduation with min 50% marks. There will be an additional entrance test.
• MLISc: General candidates must pass a BLIS degree with at least 40% marks and ST/SC candidates with 35% marks.

DR BR Ambedkar Open University PhD Eligibility

• These courses require a master’s degree in the respective discipline with at least 55% marks (50% for reserved categories).
• Additional requirements include qualifying in the UGC / JRF / NET / SLET / SET-TS/AP entrance tests.

• BRAOUMBAET: The university conducts this test to grant admission to an MBA degree. Also, students qualified in the Telangana ICET test will be exempted from this test.
• BRAOU B.Ed Entrance Tests: There are two separate tests conducted for B.Ed (Special Education) and B.Ed (General) programs.
• Ph.D. Entrance Test: Admission to PhD courses will only be completed through the UGC / JRF / NET / SLET / SET-TS/AP exam. There will be a personal interview too.
