MG University Admission 2026-27: MGU Kerala will soon start the 2026-27 academic session admission process. Recently, the university has conducted the Common Admission Test for PG admission. Soon it will start counselling (MGU CAP) for various undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral courses. The MG University registration process is expected to start on 05 May 2026 on the official website www.admission.mgu.ac.in. The tentative last date to apply for Mahatma Gandhi University Admission 2026-27 will be 31 July 2026.

MG University PG Admission 2026-27

The university offers a wide range of PG courses like MA, MBA, MSc, MCom, MEd, etc for the 2026-27 academic year. These courses are offered in fields like sciences, management, and humanities. Admissions to all PG courses are through the MGU CAT 2026 entrance and centralized counselling known as PG CAP 2026. The annual fees for these courses typically range from ₹10,000 to ₹50,000 per year and Graduate candidates are eligible for them.

MG University PhD Admission 2026-27

MGU Kerala offers admission to a 3-year PhD programme at the research level. Students can enroll in this course under 30 departments, including Law, Management, Humanities, etc. The annual fee range for research degrees ranges from ₹15,000 to ₹50,000.

The admission process for Mahatma Gandhi University PhD courses will start from 01 August 2026 with a last date of 28 August 2026. Students will need to pass PG degree to apply for this course. The enrollment process includes an entrance exam and an interview, though candidates who have qualified other tests like UGC-NET may be exempted from the entrance.

Eligibility Criteria for MG University Kerala Admission

There are some minimum requirements for admission to Mahatma Gandhi University for any course. These eligibilities are mentioned below:

For MG University UG Courses

  • Students must completed 10+2 education from a valid educational board of India.
  • There must be at leats 50% marks intermediate with subject combinations necessary for the UG courses.

For MG University PG Courses

  • Graduation from a recognized college of university of India is required.
  • The min marks in the UG degree must not be less than 50% (45% for some courses).
  • Applicants must have done UG degree is required steam or with relevant subjects like BTech for MTech, BEd for MEd.

For MG University PhD Courses

  • Candidaes are required to clear postgraduate degree with min 50% marks.
  • MPhil students are also eligible.
  • The PG degree should be in the respective department or with required subjects in which department applicants wants admission.
  • There will be an entrance test but UGC NET qualified applicants will be expected from it.

MG University Entrance Exams 2026

The university conducts entrance tests for all PG courses and PhD courses. The details of those entrance tests are mentioned below:

  • MGU CAT 2026: It is an MCQ-based test conducted by the university for all PG courses. This includes objective-type questions with a duration of 120 minutes to solve.
  • MGU PhD Entrance Test: The university conducts the research entrance test which includes a written exam and then a personal interview in the respective departments. However, UGC NET-qualified students will not have to take the written part, they can directly proceed with the interview part.

MGU CAP 2026

The admission counseling process of Mahatma Gandhi University is known as the  Centralized Allotment Process (MGU-CAP). The university grants admission to most of the undergraduate, postgraduate, and education courses through this process. MGU UG CAP 2026 considers marks from the 10+2 level, while the PG CAP 2026 considers the MGU CAT entrance exam score. The MG University Kerala BEd and MEd CAPs focus on admission to BEd and MEd courses, respectively.

The counselling process includes submitting preferences and ranking lists. The process takes multiple rounds of seat allocation, with final confirmation during physical reporting at the colleges.
