NEHU Admission 2025-26: North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU) will soon open its doors for admissions for the academic year 2025-26. NEHU provides various undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), and doctoral (Ph.D.) programs such as BA LLB, BTech, BArch, MA, MTech, MSc, MBA, MCA, and PhD in numerous specializations. The applicants can apply for these courses by visiting the official website.

NEHU Admissions commencing on 01 May 2025 and closing on 30 May 2025, aspiring students are advised to prepare early to secure their positions in their preferred courses. The applicants who have qualified 10+2+3 can pursue any program at NEHU. The application form is INR 800 (INR 400 reserved categories).

North-Eastern Hill University was established on 27 May 1973, NEHU has a mission to advance knowledge through research and instructional excellence. The University is situated in Shillong with campuses also in Tura and Wahiajer. NEHU Admissions 2025-26

Admissions for the academic session 2025-26 at NEHU will commence on 01 May 2025 and the last date to submit the application form will be 30 May 2025. The University offers a variety of courses at UG, PG, and PhD levels in streams such as Humanities, Sciences, Technology, Law, and Management. BTech, BArch, MTech, MBA, and MCA are the courses offered by NEHU as the best. 

Admissions are based on entrance exams, including CUET UG for UG programs, CUET PG for PG programs, and university-level entrance exams for PhD programs. Also, for BTech admissions the University accepts MAT, JEE, NATA, and NCET scores. NEHU application form fee is INR 800 for general category students and INR 400 for SC/ST. For general courses, the form fee is INR 500 for general category students and INR 250 for SC/ST candidates.

NEHU UG Admissions 2025

NEHU offers multiple undergraduate programs such as Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Technology, Bachelor of Architecture, B.A. LL.B. (Honours)for the 2025-26 academic cycle. NEHU Admissions to UG courses are based on the CUET UG 2025 scores. The admission application form will be released on 01 May 2024 with the last date to submit the form of 30 May 2025.

 Applicants with 10+2 certification with 45% to 55% marks can apply for UG courses admission at NEHU. The average UG course fees range from INR 20,000 to INR 60,000 per year and specialized courses like B.Tech. or B.Arch. higher fees. 

NEHU PG Admissions 2025

NEHU offers PG Admission in various disciplines such as Master of Arts, Master of Science, Master of Technology, Master of Computer Applications, Master of Business Administration, Master of Law, etc for the 2025-26 academic session. NEHU Admission to PG courses is done on the basis of CUET PG 2025 scores, followed by counseling sessions where applicable. 

To be eligible for admission applicants must have completed a UG degree with at least 50% marks from a recognized University. NEHI admission application process begins on 1st May 2025 and closes on 30th April 2025. Postgraduate course fees at NEHU typically range between INR 25,000 and INR 1,00,000 per year, depending on the stream and program.

NEHU PhD Admissions 2025-26

NEHU PhD is offered in departments like Life Sciences, Humanities, Social Sciences, Technology Management, Food Technology, etc for the 2025-26 academic session. The applicants who have applied for PhD Admission to the Departments of Philosophy are required to appear in the entrance test conducted on 27 February 2025. 

Candidates seeking PhD admission must clear the university-level entrance examination and may also need to attend interviews conducted by respective departments. A minimum of 55% marks (50% for reserved categories) in a master’s degree or equivalent qualification is mandatory for admission. The average PhD program fees include a tuition fee of INR 36,000 per year and additional research supervision fees. 

NEHU Admission Eligibility Criteria 2025

Admission to various programs at NEHU depends on fulfilling the prescribed eligibility criteria:

• Undergraduate Programs: Candidates must have completed their 10+2 education with relevant subjects. The minimum percentage marks requirements vary depending on the course, with reserved categories will get a relaxation of 5%.
• Postgraduate Programs: The applicants who have completed a bachelor’s degree from a recognized University in the relevant field with at least 50%-55% marks.
• PhD Programs: The aspirants who acquire a master’s degree with a minimum of 55% (50% for SC/ST/OBC) are eligible to apply for admission.

NEHU Entrance Exam 2025

Admissions to NEHU’s programs are determined through specific entrance tests such as CUET UG mandatory for undergraduate admissions, CUET PG required for postgraduate programs, and NEHU PhD entrance exam conducted by the university for doctoral-level admissions. Candidates are advised to register for the relevant entrance exams in advance and prepare diligently. NEHU also recognizes national-level exam scores, such as GATE and NET, for certain programs like M.Tech. and PhD.

NEHU Merit List 2025

NEHU releases a merit list to complete the admission process, as it determines the eligibility of candidates for various courses. The merit list for UG programs will be based on CUET UG scores, while PG programs will utilize CUET PG scores. For PhD programs, the merit list will be derived from performance in the university’s entrance exam and interviews, if applicable. The merit list will be published on the official NEHU website (www.nehu.ac.in) post-evaluation of the respective entrance exams.
