The undergraduate admission at Gujarat University is available in various streams like commerce, arts management, nursing, engineering, law, etc. These courses have an average duration of between 3 to 5 years. The range of UG courses is between Rs 4500 to Rs 770000. The UG admission is merit-based, except for engineering courses.

Gujarat University PG Admission 2026

Gujarat University offers PG courses in various disciplines such as Arts, Commerce, Science, Management, and Law. The prominent PG courses include MA, MCom, MSc, MEd, MTech, and others. Applicants must pass their graduation with relevant subjects/streams to enroll in them. These courses have a duration of between 2 and 5 years (integrated) with a fee range of Rs 14700 to Rs 1170000.

Gujarat University PG admission form must be filled out online through the official website (CGAS portal). Selection to most PG courses is merit-based, where candidates are selected based on their performance in the qualifying examination. However, there is an entrance test for PG Optometry, Nursing, Physiotherapy, and Engineering degrees.

Gujarat University PhD Admission 2026-27

GU admission is also available at the research level. The university offers 3 3-year PhD degrees in multiple departments like management, humanities, computer science, etc. Students can enroll in these research degrees after completing their master’s degree. The tuition fee for PG courses is between Rs 11000 to Rs 140000. Registration for admission to the Gujarat University PhD program will start in September 2026. Interested candidates are required to appear for an entrance examination then selected students are invited for a personal interview in their respective department.

Gujarat University Admission 2026 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for admission at Gujarat University vary for each programme. The common criteria are mentioned below:

UG Admission Eligibility

• Interested applicants must have completed their 10+2 examinations from Gujarat, CBSE or any other reputed board of India.
• Students must have relevant subjects in class 12th, like PCB/PCMB for Science courses.
• The minimum marks should be 50%-55%, depending on the course.

PG Admission Eligibility

• Students holding a UG degree are eligible for Gujarat University PG courses.
• The bachelor’s degree should be done in a relevant stream or with a relevant subject from a UGC-recognized university.
• Candidates must secure at least 50%-60% in their bachelor’s.

PhD Admission Eligibility

• Candidates need to have a PG or MPhil degree from a reputed university.
• Students must hold this degree in the relevant discipline, department or subject.
• The minimum marks for GU PhD courses are 55% for general students and 50% for reserved category students.

Gujarat University Entrance Exam 2026

Gujarat University considers students based on their performance in the entrance exams for courses like Optometry, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Engineering, PhD and more. Some of these tests are at the national and state levels, while the university itself conducts some. The lists are mentioned below:

• Gujrat University Entrance Test: The test is administered by the university itself across its various colleges and departments for admission to BSc and MSc in Optometry/Nursing/Physiotherapy.
• GATE: It is a national-level entrance test conducted by IITs for admission to MTech. Students need to qualify for GATE if they want admission to the GU MTech course.
• GUJCET: Gujarat state students must take this test for admission to BTech at this university.
• JEE: Other state or national-level students must qualify for JEE mains for BTech admission at GU.
